About Developing Minds

Developing Minds is an exciting, stimulating, and comprehensive enrichment program for elementary school students. We offer a variety of creative and challenging after-school courses which are designed to develop and strengthen critical-thinking skills, foster self-confidence, and develop an inherent desire for learning.

Our bright, creative, and caring certified elementary teaching staff are specialists in math, reading, and writing. We are excited, enthusiastic, and anxious to enrich your children utilizing a highly effective and innovative curricula.

Laurie Stern, Director/Founder

Laurie has taught elementary education for the last 13 years. For the past 9 years, she has been an educator in the Manhattan Beach School District. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education. In addition, she has earned a Master of Arts degree in Administration and Supervision

Our Teachers

Unlike other enrichments programs, all of Developing Minds teachers are state credentialed and experienced teachers. The majority of our staff is certified as reading specialists and/or has master’s degrees in education.

Our Classes

The small class size gives the children a chance for more individualized attention by a certified teacher. Students love coming to our classes because of the small class size, nurturing staff and fun activities.
